Too many plugins crashed my blog
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed or subscribe via email. Thanks for visiting!
Recently, I got a little plugin crazy. I love wordpress plugins. It makes working with wordpress so enjoyable. I have to admit that adding plugins to my blog have really affected my traffic and page views considerably.
So I had about 12 plugins installed and working perfectly and out of the blue on thursday of this week my blog was not accessable. I started freaking out and I went through all of the normal checks to make sure all of my content was backed up. It was, thankfully! It took me a while to figure out what had actually happened but I just wanted to do a quick post and let everyone know what had happened and to give a warning about installing to many plugins. Be careful and make sure you back everything up my friends!!!
BTW, sorry about the slow posting. I have taken a new position at a search optimization firm as the director of SEO and I have been vary swamped!

Yeah, you were freaking out alright. I thought you were gonna have a coronary! I’m glad you were able to figure it out, I told you the step by step process of ruling things out would help.
Been there. I only have a few plugins running now after having a similar realization. If you have Firebug for FF, it can give you a very good idea (in real time) about what elements, scripts (internal and external) are slowing down your site.
