TV wedding proposal – How I proposed to my girlfriend monika – Joe Whytes amazing proposal

On wednesday 10/29/08 I came home from lunch to watch my girlfriends favorite show “a baby story”. It’s her favorite show since she we found out that we are having a baby together. After a gieco commercial I suddenly popped up on the television screen. She was shocked OF course! Here is the actual video that was on TV (stretched a little bit from its original).

I also secretly video taped her reaction. Probably not the very best quality video, lil bit of cursing and some private moments I probably should have edited out but you know what.. I love her and she loves me and she said it was ok and I do what she says because I love her!

Of course this is the first blog I have posted here for a very long time and I would like to start posting more. This will probably be a mix of personal/industry stuff. Look forward to catching up on here and with all of my readers.

SES San Jose Backlash – Apperantly I’m a pimp???

I was sitting at the office minding my own business when low and behold (re-bicca) or rebecca from SEOMOZ pinged me and wanted me to check out her new comic strip. I was pretty suprised/honored to be mentioned on this comic strip however I never thought of myself as k-fed or a pimp.

Perhaps I’m in the wrong profession?

My Results from Keyword Placement in Title Tag Case Study for SEO consulting

Its been close to 2 months since I made my title tag change on www.joe-whyte.com. This case study was just for fun and looks like we have found some interesting results which a lot of us are probably not suprised about however this adds more “proof in the pudding” if you will and clears up misconceptions in a field full of opinions in my mind.

I have been checking for the past 2 months and it looks like the SERPS have settled to at least what is going to be a normal positioning for my targeted keyword term which was “SEO Consulting”. I have landed on page 2 at the bottom. Over the last few months I have seen myself as high as number 11 on the second page and as low as the bottom of page 3 however I have not seen me go as far as the 4th page which is a pretty amazing testiment to the power of changing your title tag for your keywords and good ground work for a powerful argument against the power of keywords regarding their proximety to the opening title tag.

I can see a few things that concern me. One being the fact that there is no description tag so “seo consulting” is being pulled from the page. I think I need to go ad that term somewhere on my page, maybe in an H tag .

Keyword Placement in Title Tag Case Study for SEO consulting

According to search ranking factors done by SEOmoz, your keyword in your title tag is the upmost importance, but the placement of that keyword in your title tag has been debated. Some believe that placing your branding first and then kewyords in your title tag causes little or no difference when optimizing a page in the SERPS. I am going to finally uncover this once and for all.

With my experience in title tag optimization I feel that by placing the keyword I truly want to rank for OR the most difficult keyword I am optimizing for on a given page should be the first or close to the begining of the title tag and NOT the end. When I optimized lunarpages for the term “web hosting” I did change the title tag and moved web hosting closer to the front of the title tag and along with many other alterations we where able to get to the home page for “web hosting”.

However because I did much more with the site besides altering the title tag we can not use this as a real life example of the power of keyword placement within your title tag.

Currently I rank 32 in google for SEO consulting. My current title tag reads “Joe Whyte – Seo Consulting – rockyfied”.

Below is a photo of the current rankings within google for the term “seo consulting”.

Adversely I also rank #3 on the first page of google for “Joe Whyte”. See below for image.

I will attempt to change my title tag and Repost my findings. I am curious to know what other people will think about doing this change and the importance of keyword placement within your title tag.
